Sesame Street Live!

One of John's coworker's daughters, Emma, is about 2 1/2 weeks younger than O and she had her birthday party yesterday at Sesame Street Live's presentation of 1-2-3 Imagination.  It was a ton of fun and O really seemed to like it.
Pre-show getting ready - isn't that outfit so cute?!
She wasn't at all interested in me taking pictures of her
She loves to do the stairs over and over.  Since we don't have any in our house it is a novelty.
We were in a suite.  This is our view.  The picture doesn't do it justice. We could see it all really well.
Fascinated! (I wish I had her hair!)
We're headed to my cousin, Mary Beth's, wedding this weekend and to spend some time with John's family who we haven't seen in over a year.  It's going to be great and we're looking forward to it (not so much the traveling part, but the visiting part).  Plus we get to get out of the 110 degree weather for a few days!

Random Cacti

One thing that I love about living in Arizona is the cactus that grow here.  The saguaros are amazing and come in so many different shapes and sizes.  If I see a cool looking one and I have my camera I'll take a picture.  This past weekend we went to the White Tank Mountains reserve area and there were some really neat ones.  (On a side note, if you go walking out here wear more than sandals.  O stepped on something really sharp and to this day she will point to a picture of a porcupine and tell you that it is what gave her an "owie".)
I also tried to get a panorama type shot looking off toward the city and this was the best I could do:
I found this cactus at a resort John and I stayed at a couple of years ago.  Pretty interesting.
And one more of my hubby!

Olivia's 2nd Birthday!

O turned 2 on the 5th and my parents and sister came out for her party.  We had several friends and their kiddos over to help her celebrate.  Olivia had a good time but she was mainly interested in toys and cake.  Kinda like her mom.  =)
Landon and Ashlee really enjoyed the ball hut (yes, that monkey is diapered - it's O's new thing to do)
O and Emma (who is 2 1/2 weeks younger)
The guys (sorry these are blurry)
The cake was awesome tasting
O loves the balloons and tells us all the time that the big silver one is a 2
She got a bike from Dadu and Bobcat
Apparently, at some point during the party someone (probably Olivia) got a hold of my camera

Later that night, after O had gone to bed, we made some Guamanian slushies and watched The Hangover.  My mom also managed to drop the remainder of the cake on the floor.  Luckily the cake itself didn't hit the floor but only shifted the top layer off the bottom one.  It still tasted good!
Thanks to everyone for coming out!  We had a lot of fun and hope you did too!

Erin & Ryan's Wedding - Part 6 (Day After Open House!)

The day after the wedding Erin and Ryan opened their house to anyone that was interested to come on over and have a light lunch and some drinks (hosted by my parents).

If I'm being honest I thought this was a great idea ahead of time but the week of I thought it was a terrible idea because of the amount of work that was having to go into it and the amount of stress that my mom (and, in turn, my dad) were under to make sure everything was done.  We were absolutely exhausted from the week of prep and the previous two days festivities.  Luckily it wasn't scheduled until noon on Saturday and as it got under way I am so glad that we ended up doing it.  I was able to sit and talk with people I hadn't had a chance to visit with at the reception and it was so relaxed and nice.
About 60 people or so came by at some point in the afternoon to eat sandwiches and have some beer (as if we hadn't had enough to eat and drink the night before!)  By the end of the afternoon we broke out the champagne that was supposed to be used for the champagne toast at the reception but was forgotten, and those left sat in a big circle and just hung out. It was a lot of fun.
Olivia wasn't quite sure about Simon
Little Eddie joined in the party too
Amanda doesn't drink so of course I thought this would be a funny shot
I can only imagine what he is telling her here.
We had Ryan make painkillers.  They are awesome!
Erin and Ryan had to drive to Houston that evening so that they could be at the airport in time to leave for San Juan to catch their cruise ship the following day.  We bid the newlyweds farewell and J, O and I left very early the next morning making it back home late morning on Sunday.
I had a ton of fun the entire week and just kept thinking about how I was back at work while E and R were on a boat somewhere out in the Caribbean.  Not fair.  I told John that we needed to get married again so that we could go on another honeymoon.

This is going to be the final part in the wedding posts series - unless I feel like doing a honeymoon post - but Erin broke their camera on the second day of the trip and they haven't developed their disposable cameras yet.  You never can tell though!
