Random Thoughts

Do you ever have those days when you feel like you have everyone fooled and you don't know how you did it?

I'm having one of those days at work.

No Go

Of course, after a week of 75 degree weather it rained over the weekend so we weren't able to take Olivia to the zoo or the mountains (foothills).  We were so disappointed!  I will be out of town this weekend for Erin's shower (yay!) so we won't be able to do it then, but it is supposed to rain again so we probably couldn't have done it anyway.  I thought it didn't rain in Arizona!  Guess we'll just have to push it back a couple of weeks.

Some Pictures

I just wanted to throw some pictures on here.  O loves her baby dolls (I think they're creepy) and she takes them all over the house, inside and out.  Here she put them on a patio chair and is sitting looking out at the yard with them.  I love the look on her face in the first picture.

O still really likes her baths and loves to have the little ear/nose cleaner-outer bulb thingy.  She thinks it is hilarious when I spray her with water from it.   We were planning on going to the zoo this weekend but we may change our plans and head to the White Tank Mountains (not really mountains - more like hills) and let her run around for a while.  We'll definitely get pictures either way.

Spring!

I am so excited because pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training this week!  Games start up on March 4, which is just around the corner, and with the weather the way it is right now you will find us out at as many games as we can possibly make it to.

The Cleveland Indians moved to a training facility about 2 miles from our house last year (the Cincinnati Reds join them this year) so getting to a game is so easy and convenient though it isn't our favorite facility to see a game (that would be Surprise where the Royals and Rangers play).

We're also planning a trip to the zoo.  It will be O's first time and we just know she is going to love it.  I can't wait to see her reaction to all the animals.  The zoo by our house has a place where you can feed giraffes right from your hand and I'm eager to see what she thinks of that.  They get super close and stick their tongues out right onto your hand to get the pellets.  So fun!  The zoo is a breeding zoo so there are a lot of babies around and it's really neat because you can get really close to some of the animals.  They just opened a new aquarium a little over a year ago which will be fun to check out too.  I think I may be more excited about going than anyone!

E's shower is coming up in a week and a half so I will be heading to Austin for that.  It'll be a quick trip so O and J are going to stay home this time.  They'll be out for the big trip in two months!  I can't believe that E will be married so soon!  Yay!

Super Bowl!

Happy Super Bowl weekend!  Our family is looking forward to watching the game though we really don't care one way or the other who wins.  We would prefer to see the Saints win only because they haven't won a Super Bowl before and the Colts just recently won one.  I like Peyton Manning though so I like to see him win.  I think, however, that I'll be a part of the Who Dat! crew on Sunday.

Have fun and enjoy the game!

Picture Update

I don't have a lot to update on so I was just going to post some pictures.  O loves to wear shoes and jackets.  I don't know why.  Obviously it doesn't matter to a toddler if they match (as evidenced by the white sandals and black socks - classy), but it should to a mom (I'm slackin').  Then she tries to put the jacket on herself and it is always backwards.  This is her frustrated because she can't get it on right and I thought it was funny so I had to get a picture while she whined.

I made a cake a couple of weeks ago and O got to lick the beaters.  She kept coming back for more.  A girl after my own heart.

She loves being outside too, and there is something about the broom that is fascinating.  We have taught her to chase the cat with it because he is terrified of it.  Yes, we drive Elvis crazy, but he deserves it most of the time.

O is a little reader.  Here she is enjoying Jennifer Weiner's Certain Girls.  Yes, my child is advanced.  =)

I think her dad was trying to get her to balance the trivet on her head.  Again, I don't know why.  (Yes, that does say DEMARCUS 94 on the fridge behind her - [DeMarcus Ware plays for the Dallas Cowboys and wears #94 for those of you who don't know - and really why should we care?  The Cowgirls suck!]).  My husband is gay.

One of her other favorite things to do is put on Mom and Dad's shoes and clomp around the house.  Here she had my shoes, mismatched pajamas and dad's Memphis Redbirds hat on (I still hate that stupid pacifier).
