I know, I know. I'm way behind on my posts. But really, we've been kind of busy. Last weekend we went to Porter to see John's family. It was a lot of fun. We got to see our nieces and nephews which is always enjoyable. Our newest nephew, Billy, who is 7 months old weighs in at 22 pounds. His almost 2 1/2 year old sister is 29 pounds! He's a big boy who likes to eat. Here are some pictures:

Apparently you can never start them too early on the Oklahoma Sooners.

My parents were in town this past week to supervise the painters that we had come in and redo three rooms in our house. The rooms look awesome. I am so glad that we decided to have someone come in and do the work for us. It took them a day and half. It would have taken us probably a month and a half. I will be sure to take some pictures and post them later. We also took my mom to a hockey game which was a lot of fun.

The plan for this weekend was to put in the laminate floors and baseboards in the hallway. That, unfortunately, never happened. John woke up Friday and his back was messed up again. So we have done nothing this weekend. But that's okay after the last couple of weeks. We needed a little bit of a break. Today it rained most of the day so it was nice to relax and watch TV and listen to the rain come down outside.

Well the cat is out of the bag for a lot of you already, but for those of you who don't know, here is a picture from our latest sonogram. It will tell you what we are having:

So, yes, all of you that voted girl, John and I are going to be parents to a little "Dickette" as my mom calls it. We were expecting a boy, but are happy nonetheless. She is very healthy and looked good on the sonogram. I'm already starting to worry about what my brother and cousins are going to teach her and Ellie as they get older. Stuff I'm sure they shouldn't know, but I also know how much they will love them and protect them. It will be fun to watch as they get older.

Right now I'm just trying to prepare myself for all the pink that I'm sure we're going to be getting. I'm going to try to register for as much non-pink as we can. I'm sure I won't get totally away from it though. Pink is unavoidable when you have a girl. Plus, Amber already told me that she is buying me pink because with two boys she can't buy it for her kids.

And, no, we have not decided on a name. We are currently in negotiations since it seems we can't agree on what to call her. I throw names out there and John shoots them down. He did suggest Tory Switzer though, since we can't go with Troy Switzer. I don't think so. Our next appointment is not until February 15 but not much will happen at that one. The sonograms are done unless something comes up, which I am praying something doesn't. I'm just glad to be more than half way there!

Okay

Well, we found out. But I'm not going to post the results until next week. We are going to tell my mom and dad in person next Tuesday, so after that, we'll see. I really don't think I'll be able to keep my mouth shut. The baby is about 8 inches long and weighs a little over half a pound. Things look really good and normal. Here are some pics from the sonogram:

Really?!

For real people! 50/50! Throw me a bone! I have no idea what we're having and I thought maybe, just maybe, you guys knew something that we didn't. Apparently not. Yeah, well, it'll make tomorrow interesting.

I told John yesterday that I wasn't sure how this whole not telling the sex thing was going to work and he matter of factly said that it wasn't. He's probably right. But I am going to try. We'll see how long that lasts.

Before & After

There is not much to report on the baby front for now. I do think that I have been feeling kicks for a couple of weeks so that's pretty cool. John and I decided that the baby either must really like or really hate football because he was pretty active for the first part of the Fiesta Bowl. We decided to go at almost the last minute but we ended up having a good time even though OU got their butts kicked. Oh well. Of course John was very excited to see Barry Switzer and Jimmy Johnson who were there doing the pregame show. Here are some pictures: Grumpy Old Coaches

The view from our seats

I also wanted to put some before and after pictures of the "man room" floor that John did. It looks really great in there. John ripped up carpet, removed baseboards, laid vapor barrier and the flooring, then had to replace the baseboards. We are moving on to the living room this week. I can't wait to get rid of our carpet. It is so nasty!

I also need to update my belly pics. The last ones I put on were from week 16. The ones below are from this week. They were taken when I was exactly 18 weeks along. One of my bosses told me that this week was the first week that I really looked pregnant. Erin gave me the shirt that I'm wearing in the picture for Christmas. I put it on and couldn't believe that I really looked pregnant, not just like I'd put on a little too much weight! It's kind of nice.

I still have no intuition as to what we are having. Maybe the fact that I keep referring to the baby as a "he" tells me something, but who knows. I've heard all sorts of Old Wives' Tales that apply to me in some ways and not in others - like the one where if for every girl a woman has she takes away some of the mom's beauty. Well, my skin is terrible, so it's right there, but my hair and nails are incredibly healthy, so it's wrong there. I just don't know. That'll add to the surprise on January 15. I am already planning on drinking some orange juice in the morning before the ultrasound to get the little one moving around so hopefully we can get the money shot.
