Registry Issue

Edited - 2/13/08:
It was brought to my attention that the original title, "Problem", could be misconstrued. So I've changed it. I hope it doesn't give anyone else a heart attack. Sorry Kelley!

So John and I went and did our registering this past weekend. We got our crib too (after going to or calling 4 different Target stores)! I will be so happy when we are able to set it up. We have to do the floors first though, so it might be a few weeks before we get to it. But that is not the reason I am writing this. When we were doing our registering at Target I noticed that the store no longer carried the bedding we registered for. I also noticed when I went online that they were out of stock of some of the stuff. I had a weird feeling about this so I called Target's 800-number to find out what was going on. Turns out the stuff has been discontinued! And none of the Target's in my area have any of it left! So now here we are with a room painted green to match the bedding and no bedding to go in it. At least the green can go with pink, purple, or maybe another jungle themed bedding ensemble. We are going to look at one more SuperTarget this week and if they don't have it then we are going to have to come up with a different bedding set. I'm, surprisingly, not concerned about this. I guess I wasn't over the moon about the stuff after all, and I've already started to find some other options that I think I may like better. Hey, I figure, if this is the worst that happens, then we're good.

Other than that, the registration process went pretty well. We are by no means done yet. We have changed our minds on a couple of things and my next step is to go through both registries, see if there are any duplicates, see what we already have and make a list of what we still need to register for. There is so much! It can be really overwhelming. John and I were done for after an hour in each store. He can only take so much even when he gets to use the gun to scan stuff. And I'm getting to where I can't stand and walk around as long as I used to before my back and feet start to hurt.

My mom came up with a great idea for the shower weekend for the guys. The Shell Houston Open is that weekend, so she thought it would be fun for the guys to go to the tournament while the girls were at the shower. I think it would be such a good time for them. John and I have our plane tickets for that weekend and I am getting so excited. I can't wait to see everyone. And we finally get to meet Ellie for the first time!

Speaking of new babies, I would like to say congratulations to my high school friend, Jennifer Olivier Keel, and her husband Ryan. They had their baby boy Logan this Saturday. He was 20.5 inches and 8 lbs. It sounds like everyone is healthy and doing well. Congrats Jenn and Ryan!

Target did that for a lot of my wedding stuff. I bought my bedding from Target, but I just bought it because I heard they discontinue after just two months. Babies R' Us DOES NOT have this problem, and they email you if stuff is going to discontinue. As much as I LOVE Target, they need to stop doing this crap.

I have a complaint about this blog entry!! It just about gave me a heart attack when I read the title "Problem" and then you went on about Target (sigh of relief) and THEN said, "But that's not the reason I'm writing..." (freak out again) and then you disclosed that the problem was the bedding was discontinued (sigh of relief but I think I called you a name at that point).

Bottom line is, glad you're ok, sorry about the bedding ;-)
